Call for Artists: The Forney Arts House Grand Opening Art Show!
The Forney Arts Council (FAC) is now accepting entries for participation in The Forney Arts House Grand Opening Art Show!
Art Show Theme: For our Grand Opening, we want to showcase the art you, our member artists, are most proud of! That’s the theme - what piece or pieces are you proud of and want to share with the community!
Art Show Event Dates: May 22, 2026 - July 12, 2026
Grand Opening Reception: Saturday, May 23, 2026
Location: The Forney Arts House, 114 W Pacific St., Downtown Forney, Texas
How to Apply: Forney Arts Council members are eligible to participate. Please fill out the FAC Art Show Entry Application and submit by April 19, 2026. All applications will be reviewed and approved or denied by April 24, 2026. Space is limited and the visual arts committee reserves the right to choose the best artists suited for this art show. You will be notified via email of your application status. Accepted applicants will have 5 business days to reply back confirming their participation in the art show.
Application Fee: None
# of Entries Accepted: Artists are welcome to submit 1-3 pieces of art.
Mediums Accepted: All drawing and painting mediums, mixed media, art photography, digital art and illustrations.
Art Dimensions / Framing: All canvas or framed artwork should be no larger than 24”x30” inches. Art must be framed or canvas painted on the edges; no staples may show (may be taped/painted). Art and frame must be in good condition. Art must be strung with wire or otherwise be ready and suitable for hanging with the hanging system. D ring style preferred over sawtooth. Make the wire fairly taut and 1/4 to 1/3 from the top of the piece. Please twist or tape over raw wire ends to protect those hanging your art. FAC will handle the artwork labels. Please include a brief description of your artwork, artist statement and price for purchase (if applicable) in your application for the label.
Art Quality: All artwork must be original. Art must be family-friendly and without nudity. The committee may reject the display of some artwork for any reason and at its discretion.
Sales: FAC will NOT be taking a commission on artwork sales and neither the location nor FAC will make sales or collect money. If the artist chooses to make art available for sale, they must include their contact information/website/link/QR code with clear instructions to handle their own sales. The artist is also responsible for informing FAC if an artwork is sold. FAC will mark artwork as sold in the gallery. Generally, art is to remain until the end of the show, but if the buyer would like the art immediately, be prepared to replace the art with another work.
Art Delivery and Pickup: Artist or artist’s representative must deliver the artwork to the location at the designated date and time. On closing date, the artist or representative must pick up artwork or make arrangements no later than 72 hours in advance for FAC to take down on their behalf and store the work until the artist can pick it up. FAC takes no responsibility for the art.

Artist Tear Down Date: Sunday, July 12, 2026
