About The Forney Arts Council Facility Campaign

The Forney Arts Council (FAC) has been in the community for about 15 years, and has offered programming in lots of venues - houses, parks, The Cotton Gin, The Spellman Museum, local businesses, schools, etc. Our offerings have provided opportunities to both established and emerging artists and artisans.   While we have partnered with the City of Forney to provide vendors for city events, we are not supported by the city, unlike many local arts councils.

We LOVE our partners who let us borrow their spaces, but know we could offer so much more with a place of our own! We could sponsor more consistent programming, hold year-round events, offer summer children’s classes and provide more artist opportunities with semi-permanent installations/shows, etc.

Studies show that having an active art scene increases a sense of community, as well as generates revenue. As there are no community buildings in the Forney area, in addition to using the facility for the FAC, we would like to make it available to the community, including other non-profits. A facility is a place that WE need but also that FORNEY needs.
